Recreation: Organize a Group Hike


As a relaxed outdoor activity I went for a hike with a bunch of friends. We walked to the Hollywood sign, which isn’t the most strenuous hike by any means, but the weather was nice and the air was clean from a rain the night before.It was a perfect day to check out the Hollywood sign.


Hiking is a good way to spend time with people you care about. Instead of seeing a movie, or going to dinner, taking a hike is a good way to catch up with friends and to get a mild low impact exercise.



It’s good to take long walks. It is not only good for our joints, but for our cardiovascular and circulatory systems. Walking also strengthens our legs and our core, especially when walking on uneven terrain and up and down hill. By doing this we have to become more aware of how we walk, and we are forced to use our stabilizing muscles, which get very little use in our modern lifestyle.


So some weekend coming up, invite all your friends to go on a midmorning hike on a Saturday or Sunday, you’ll be surprised how many people will take you up on the offer.
